“You’re full of yourself.”

Have you ever been told the above? Or thought it about someone else? Uttered the words, perhaps in sarcasm?

The sentiment “You’re full of yourself” is typically meant as a put-down, a reprimand. I think the expression has received a very bad–and misperceived–rap. To be full of your true Self is the best thing you can be! In fact, to be anything less than full of your Self is selfish. Think about it. To be less than full of yourself is to hold back, restrain, avoid, deny, not represent your truth, and ultimately to suffer.

I say, Be full of yourself. That is, be you. The world will love you for it. And that sentiment is reciprocal.

Om Tat Sat.
